flowers
Michelle B asked:

I am planning a large, informal activity for our church. The theme is Autumn Nights. Just to give you an idea of the direction I’m going…instead of a standard refreshment table we’re doing a Caramel Apple bar, with quartered apples, a couple fondue fountains with caramel and chocolate, and some crushed nuts, butterfinger, etc…for people to dip their apples in. I am definitely going to use autumn leaves to decorate, and a full moon, but I don’t know what to use on the tables. There will be 8 - 10 small round tables and I would like to make centerpieces that are low but I don’t know where to go to get inspiration for which flowers to use or anything. Any ideas? Thanks!

How about rust, orange and white colored mums?

I’d use fall colored mums greenery in the centerpieces use small round wicker baskets. If you go to a craft store, such as Michaels, you can buy the green blocks to put in the bottom of the baskets, to hold the flowers greenery. As for mum colors, try using rust, yellow, burgundy. You can get the baskets in the dollar store for usually a dollar a piece. Just a thought.

Sounds beautiful! Try some yellow and burgundy sunflowers on the tables. Or use pumpkins, squash and gourds. Even a basket of apples would be nice as a centerpiece. Don’t forget the apple cider, it is part of autumn. Good luck! =)
