jennyss asked:
I’m looking for flowers for bouquets, decorations, and centerpieces. Would like to know some good flowers, preferably some I could order online and make my own arrangements. I’m getting married in May, so I’m looking for flowers that would be in bloom at that time. Thanks!

tulips, try something a little different.
Roses are pretty mixed with carnations!!!!!!!!! good luck
One word PERFECT
try tinted calla lillies
Daisies put into water with food coloring will change to light pastel colors …. pink daisies are very dainty.
Any white flower can be tinted. Take your pick.
Gerbera Daisies, they come in all different colors, but there are a couple of shades of pink. They are somewhat of a larger daisy, very pretty. I am using them for my wedding in all different colors.
I too got married in May, although quite some time ago. I had great results with tulips for bouquets and peonies for centerpieces. Both are in bloom in May and, because the peonies themselves are such a large flower (about 3 + inches across), they are terrific to make simple, but lush, centerpieces with lots of greenery.
Be sure to specify light pink, as both peonies and tulips come in lots of shades or pink.
Roses tulips and carnations are the first ones you think of…but most white flower can be tinted to a shade of pink by mixing up food coloring with water…. try it to see if it works first but I’d go to a floral market and see what is available, you’d really be surprised at the flowers that are out there that you’d never think of or plain didn’t know about. Good Luck!!!!
i do floral design on the side. i would suggest walmart, michaels crafts, hobby lobby. how about soft pinkish mauve colored roses with baby’s breath and some ivy? please email me and i can send you more ideas
No one else said this, but these are my favorite flowers. Asian Lilies, Star Gazer Lilies. They are white with pink spots. There are also pure white ones that can be dyed to color.
I think pink roses are so elegant. If you start to mix too many flowers, you can lose the elegance of the rose. I say, for beauty, simplicity, and the best of elegance, do pink roses with white baby’s breath. Perfect!!
pink white yellow roses
Light pink tea roses would be very elegant.
Alstromeria
The look like tiny lilies, and there are a bunch on each stalk and they are cheap! I had some in my bouquet I made myself!
Try this:
You can look by month or color to find flowers. On the flowers by month, it also tells you what colors are available for that flower, so you could have an easier time finding fresh than a special order greenhouse flowers that are out of season (and more expensive). If you aren’t sure what some of the flowers look like, try the link under it for their old catalog.
Browse around the other places from their menu bar, they have some great supplies, ideas, and pictures.
Then shop around for the best prices.
Good Luck!
Roses and Carnations mixed or just one is really beautiful.
Tea roses, they bloom all year round and they look good in a bouquet.
I Think What Would Be Good Is Daisy’s And Roses.

For clothes or for flowers or for everything in general? (Colours cover a LOT at a wedding!).
For clothes – red and gold is a nice striking combination, but I think it is more appropriate to the winter months. For a spring wedding, soft yellows and blues. For summer – pretty much anything you like! Autumn – blues and lilacs, the cooler end of the spectrum.
I would say don’t go for the whole theme of pink – even though I love pink myself – simply because it just doesn’t suit a lot of bridesmaids and they aren’t too happy about having hundreds of photos of themselves looking like a wrapped sweet.
Yellow is a good colour – particularly if your flower arrangments refelct this by including lots of big sunflowers in them. Striking and cheerful!
To state the obvious – only go for what you and your partner are happiest with, even if it’s nothing like what I’ve mentioned or whatever anyone else says is good. It’s up to the married couple, after all!

Gerbera (African Daisies), Stargazer Lilies, Carnations, Roses will make a good combination..
Congratulations to you..
oops, i used my husband’s nick…
Pick any color you want but get them in plastic, that way they will never die ,and you will have them your whole life and able to look back and say yes they look the same as the day I was married , be just like Donald Trump Real Cheapo, spray them with perfume and no one will know but you, no really that’s what I did and I am still married 14 years later, first wife use the real cut Flowers and she left before the flowers died , LOL
miniature pink carnations with babies breath.
roses… they’re around enough and used enough that growers develop them to be sturdy and in a mulititude of colors and they mix so well with other flowers… how about some pink flowers and orange orchids? with little blue (forgot the name a very tiny flower) to fill around?
mix it up.. since it’ll be in may… the time of color and life!
and roses smell so good.. and well they’re easy on the nose in some allergy cases. besides if they’re not sprayed some like to take them home to use for their bath..
lovely, very lovely flower that a rose is.
well it’ll make a good base flower i will suggest that.
